Her debut track Here was released in the year 2015. The single garnered a lot of acclaim and was well received from critics as well as listeners. The song peaked at number 19 in both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the track one of the top Songs in 2015. The same year when she dropped Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful, one of her original five tracks included in the Billboard Charts which include Billboard Hot 100 from Canada, and Billboard 200 for Canada's Album Charts. In her interview with Rap-Up the listeners discussed Cara's self-love journey and the doubts she faced. Cara's songs often include positive message about mental health, and the importance of loving oneself. Every song Cara sings comes directly from her struggles with mental illness, insomnia and other issues. In a Reuters' interview, she has described her album as half-tumultuous however, it is half finished. The therapy she received made her stronger and she encourages other artists to follow the same path. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician was born in Canada on July 11, 1996 to Italian parents of Italian descent. Her first guitar was purchased from her parents at the time she turned 10 which ignited the passion for music. At 13 years old, she started covering her most loved songs on YouTube an important media platform to prove to the world she was talented and courage to become an artist. Sweater Weather is among these covers which led to her being noticed to be signed by EP Entertainment. This record label gave her the opportunity to create her own songs.
