She released her debut single Here in 2015 at the age of 19. It was an instant hit with both critics as well as the fans were awed by the song. It was ranked in the Canadian Hot 100, and Billboard Hot 100, ranked it at 19. Even Rolling Stone named the track one of the top Songs of the year. This same year, she also released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of the five original songs that reached Billboard's chart. In an interview that Cara gave with Rap Up, the track had lots of meaning for many of the listeners who related to her personal story of accepting and loving yourself. Cara is famous for including the themes of mental health and kindness and self-love into her music. The music she sings is reflective of her own struggles with insomnia and mental health. Reuters stated that she calls the album "half turbulent, and half finished". She found that therapy has helped her develop and encourages other artists to follow the same path. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. Her birth date was July 11, 1996, to parents of Italian origins. When she was just 10 years old her parents gave her a guitar which became the starting point of her passion for music. In the year 2003, she turned 13, she began singing her favorite tracks via YouTube. It was an excellent way to showcase to others that she possessed both ability and determination. Sweater Weather is one of these covers which led to her being noticed to be signed by EP Entertainment. This record label let her write new songs of her own.
