Based on an interview she did with Rap Up, this track had lots of meaning for many people who listened to her story about finding acceptance and appreciation for your self. Cara is famous for including the themes of mental health and kindness and self-love into her music. The music she sings is reflective of her personal struggle with mental illness and insomnia. Reuters stated that she calls her album "half tumultuous, half perfected". The growth of her career was helped by a therapy. She advises other people who need help to seek support. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. She was born July 11, 1996 to parents with Italian heritage. Her parents gave her a guitar when she was 10 years old, which led to her passion for music. 2013 was the year she recorded some of her most loved songs on YouTube which is a well-known media platform. The goal was to prove that she had the capability and the self-confidence to be an artist. Sweater Weather is one of these covers which led to her being noticed at the time by EP Entertainment. This record label allowed her create the songs she wrote herself.
